چکیده

Electrodes of electromagnetic flow-meter are subject to contamination in sewage measurement. In this paper, the relationship between the internal resistance of the flow-induced voltage and the electrode contamination is analyzed on the basis of numerical analysis. A new self-diagnostic method for electrode adhesion with additional excitation based on photovoltaic cell is proposed, in which magnetic excitation for flow-rate measurement and electric excitation for electrode self-diagnosis is divided in both time domain and frequency domain. A dual-excited electromagnetic flow-meter with electrode self-diagnosis was designed and validated. Simulation experiments based on the change of the internal resistance of the flow-induced voltage were carried out. And the experimental results fully show that this new method is feasible and promising. Copyright © 2014 IFSA Publishing, S. L.

A Novel Method of Multi-Information Acquisition for Electromagnetic Flow Meters

In this paper, a novel method is proposed for multi-information acquisition from the electromagnetic flow meter, using magnetic excitation to measure the fluid velocity and electrochemistry impedance spectroscopy (EIS) for both the fluid quality and the contamination level of the transducer. The impedance spectra of the transducer are measured with an additional electrical stimulus in series wi...

Numerical Simulation and Verification of Weight Function of Electromagnetic Flow Meter with Non-insulation Pipe Wall

Weight function distributions for an electromagnetic flow meter with a non-insulating pipe are numerically simulated and verified. The weight function distribution is very important for solution of flow velocity of distribution. In this paper, a finite element method (FEM) is used for solving the weight function distribution for this novel electromagnetic flow meter. First of all, a numerical s...

Measurement of velocity profiles in multiphase flow using a multi-electrode electromagnetic flow meter

This paper describes an electromagnetic flow meter for velocity profile measurement in single phase and multiphase flows with non-uniform axial velocity profiles. A Helmholtz coil is used to produce a near-uniform magnetic field orthogonal to both the flow direction and the plane of an electrode array mounted on the internal surface of a non-conducting pipe wall. Induced voltages acquired from ...
